A Historic International Performance by the Bangladesh National Men’s Volleyball Team
The Bangladesh National Men’s Volleyball Team secured the Silver Medal and finished as Runner-up at the CAVA Men’s Volleyball Championship 2026, held from 22–29 July 2026 at the Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad, Pakistan.
The championship was organized by the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) and hosted by the Pakistan Volleyball Federation. Six national teams — Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and host Pakistan — competed in the tournament.
The competition featured a Round Robin stage, followed by the Semi-finals, Bronze Medal Match and Gold Medal Match.
Bangladesh’s Campaign
Bangladesh entered the championship with a 19-member national team and produced an impressive campaign throughout the competition.
The team began its tournament journey with a closely contested 3–2 victory over Uzbekistan. After a 0–3 loss to host Pakistan, Bangladesh responded strongly, securing consecutive victories against Kazakhstan, Nepal and Sri Lanka, all by 3–2 margins.
With four wins from the Round Robin stage, Bangladesh advanced to the semi-finals. In the semi-final, the team delivered a commanding performance against Uzbekistan, winning 3–0 and earning its place in the championship final.
Bangladesh ultimately completed the tournament with five wins from seven matches, securing a well-deserved place on the podium.
Gold Medal Match

In the championship final, Bangladesh faced the host nation Pakistan in the Gold Medal Match.
Bangladesh fought hard for the title, but Pakistan secured the championship with a 3–0 victory.

As a result, Pakistan claimed the Gold Medal, while Bangladesh finished as Runner-up and secured the Silver Medal.
In the Bronze Medal Match, Sri Lanka defeated Uzbekistan 3–2 to finish third, while Uzbekistan finished fourth.
