Bangladesh National Men’s Volleyball Team Honoured at Reception Ceremony

The Bangladesh National Men’s Volleyball Team was accorded a warm reception and honoured for its outstanding achievement at the CAVA Men’s Championship 2026, held recently in Islamabad, Pakistan, where Bangladesh finished as runners-up and secured the silver medal.

To celebrate the team’s remarkable international achievement and recognise the contributions of the players and officials, the Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) organised a reception ceremony on 30 August 2026 at the Shaheed Nur Hossain National Volleyball Stadium, Dhaka.

State Minister Aminul Haque Attends as Chief Guest

The ceremony was graced by Mr. Md. Aminul Haque, Hon’ble State Minister, Ministry of Youth and Sports, as the Chief Guest. Mr. Md. Doulatuzzaman Khan, NDC, Executive Director (Joint Secretary), National Sports Council, attended the programme as the Special Guest.

Among those present were Mr. M A Latif Shahrear Jahedee, President, Bangladesh Volleyball Federation; Mr. Mohammad Shoyeb, Mr. Bimal Ghosh Bhulu and Ms. Nasima Chowdhury Shirin; Mr. Mohd. Abdul Mumin Saddam, General Secretary; Mr. Shariful Islam Swapan and Mr. Md. Shohel Rana Lincoln, Joint Secretaries; and Mr. Imran Haider Kanchan, Treasurer of the Bangladesh Volleyball Federation. Other officials of the Federation were also present at the ceremony.

Players and Officials Receive Awards

In recognition of their contribution to Bangladesh’s international success, 17 members of the Bangladesh National Men’s Volleyball Team were presented with crest awards and financial rewards at the reception.

The awards acknowledged the dedication, discipline and competitive performance of the players and team officials throughout the CAVA Men’s Championship 2026.

The ceremony also recognised sports organisers and sports personalities who have made significant contributions to the development and promotion of volleyball in Bangladesh. In a special tribute, posthumous honours were also presented in memory of distinguished sports organisers and personalities who had contributed to the advancement of volleyball in the country.

Bangladesh’s Outstanding Campaign at CAVA Men’s Championship 2026

Bangladesh delivered a strong and consistent performance throughout the CAVA Men’s Championship 2026 in Islamabad.

The national team secured victories over Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Nepal during the competition and advanced to the semi-final. In the semi-final, Bangladesh produced an impressive performance to defeat Uzbekistan 3–0, earning a place in the final.

In the championship final, Bangladesh faced Pakistan and finished the tournament as runners-up, earning the silver medal.

The achievement marked an important milestone for Bangladesh volleyball and demonstrated the growing competitiveness of the national men’s team on the international stage.

The silver medal at the CAVA Men’s Championship 2026 represents a significant achievement for Bangladesh volleyball.
